PASADENA, Calif. (AP) — Police in Pasadena shot a man they say pulled a gun during a foot chase.
The shooting happened around 10 a.m. Friday after two officers on patrol spotted Paris Holloway.
Police say Holloway fled and the pursuing officers fired several shots when he brandished the gun.
At least one bullet hit Holloway, who was taken to the hospital and was expected to survive.
The Pasadena Star-News reports (http://bit.ly/1gyl1di ) that several witnesses said police did not seem in a hurry to call paramedics.
Karina Huizar says Holloway was bleeding from the mouth and stomach when police handcuffed him.
She says other bystanders were screaming at the officers to help him, but they did little until an ambulance arrived.
