LOS ANGELES (AP) — The NCAA has turned down Southern California's request for possible relief from the sanctions that have been imposed on the football program since 2010. Athletic director Pat Hayden had said USC felt compelled to discuss the sanctions after the NCAA's recent decision to lessen the scholarship reductions that Penn State was hit with after the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Manti Te'o is poised to make his regular-season debut when the Chargers host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Te'o has been out with an injured right foot since Aug. 8. Coach Mike McCoy said Te'o has looked good in practice and he expects the linebacker to do fine on Sunday.
ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) — Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor took another step in his recovery from a concussion and faces one final test before getting clearance to play Sunday. Pryor was approved for full contact in practice and took increased reps while splitting time with Matt Flynn today. He faces another medical test tomorrow.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — Center Dan Gadzuric has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers announced the deal with the veteran big man from UCLA today. Los Angeles opens training camp tomorrow with 19 players on its roster.
