HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy says a state contractor attended California fundraising events at which the governor also participated last weekend.
The Hearst Connecticut Media Group (http://bit.ly/18eVqP4 ) reports that Malloy told reporters on Wednesday he could not remember specific fundraising events during his visit to the San Francisco area.
He said guests at fundraisers included Leonard Mendonca, a director of McKinsey & Co., a state contractor that would be prohibited from contributing if the governor were an announced candidate. He has not announced whether he will seek a second term next year.
Malloy said he doesn't believe he asked for money from Mendonca, but would look into it.
Mendonca said Thursday through a spokeswoman he would have no comment.
