A family member says Jonathan Denver's father plans to speak before the 1:05 p.m. Giants game against the San Diego Padres. Michael Montgomery was released from jail Friday night after the San Francisco district attorney said police had insufficient evidence.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — San Francisco Police are investigating if a person who showed up at a San Francisco hospital with gunshot wounds is connected to the robbery of a television reporter. Police say the robbery occurred around 8 p.m. Friday in a high-crime neighborhood. KRON4 reports that reporter Jeb Bush handed over his equipment to two armed men before a security guard opened fire.
SEATTLE (AP) — A National Transportation Safety Board released a report Friday which blames shoddy workmanship for a tear in the roof of a 2011 Southwest Airlines flight. The Boeing 737 was en route from Phoenix to Sacramento, Calif., when a 5-foot-long gash opened in the fuselage. The aircraft made an emergency landing and only a flight attendant was injured.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A new poll finds a majority of California voters consider the $68-billion bullet train project a waste of money. A USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times survey published yesterday found that 52 percent of voters say the project to link Los Angeles and San Francisco should be halted. The project has fallen a year behind schedule and is facing multiple lawsuits.
