LOS ANGELES (AP) — A second dry ice explosion has occurred at Los Angeles International Airport, but there were no reports of any injuries or evacuations. There was no immediate word where the dry ice was found or whether there was any significant damage in last night's explosion. Two other devices also were found at the airport but they did not explode. On Sunday night, a plastic bottle containing dry ice exploded in an employee bathroom in LAX's terminal 2.
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — BART trains are running on a normal schedule today after unions and management again agreed to extend labor talks past a midnight deadline. A federal mediator told reporters at about 1 a.m. that "intense negotiations" would resume and go through the night.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Work is slated to restart today at the new $1.2 billion San Francisco 49ers stadium after investigators determined a truck driver's death was a workplace accident and not a crime. Officials said the delivery truck driver was crushed yesterday by a bundle of rebar being unloaded from his truck. It's the second worker death at the construction project.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Civil rights groups and members of Congress are pressing the Justice Department to renew its investigation of a 1985 office bombing that killed Palestinian-American civil rights leader Alex Odeh and injured seven people in Santa Ana. An online petition has about 10,000 signatures.
