Donovan has 134 regular-season goals, passing second-place Jaime Moreno (133) and matching Cunningham's total. Robbie Keane also scored two goals for the two-time defending champion Galaxy.
BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — After further review, California quarterback Jared Goff has set a single-game school record for passing yards. Cal announced today that a third-quarter play originally was credited as a 15-yard run by Chris Harper was actually a 15-yard completion. The change gives Goff 504 yards for the game against Washington State, one more than the school record.

With jockey Corey Nakatani subbing for Garrett Gomez, 13-1 shot Aotearoa ran a mile on the turf in 1:34.42 and paid $28.60, $7.60 and $4.60.
MOHNTON, Pa. (AP) — John Force raced to his second straight Funny Car victory to open a 65-point lead with two events left in the NHRA's Countdown to the Championship. The 64-year-old Force, a record 15-time season champion, won for the third time this season and the record 137th of his unprecedented career. He beat rookie Chad Head in the final round with a 4.106-second run at 313.37 mph in a Ford Mustang.
