San Francisco police investigating fatal stabbing

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Police in San Francisco are investigating the early morning fatal stabbing of a man inside an apartment building.

Lt. Tim Plyer says officers responding to a 911 call found a man suffering from stab wounds inside the lobby of the building located in the city's Hayes Valley neighborhood shortly after 3 a.m. Monday.

Paramedics later pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Plyer says investigators are interviewing witnesses and they are questioning at least three suspects in the case as the building had been under a lockdown.

Police say the victim is from San Francisco but have yet to release his name pending the notification of relatives.
