1 arrested in killing of S. Calif mini-mart guard

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (AP) — A man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting a security guard who was trying to stop a robbery at a convenience store in Rancho Cucamonga.

The San Bernardino County sheriff's office said 36-year-old Diego Dominguez was stopped in a car Sunday morning, then arrested after detectives searched his vehicles and home.

He was booked into jail for investigation of robbing the mini mart and murdering Dean Sena.

Authorities said Sena tried to stop the robber Saturday night, after one of two clerks left the store and alerted him to the situation while the other clerk gave the robber the money.

Sena was shot before he could fire his own weapon. He died at the hospital.

Sheriff's Cpl. Randy Naquin said surveillance video helped lead detectives to the suspect.
