4 a.m. IRWINDALE — Fiesta Parade Floats will allow media coverage of hundreds of decorators arranging flowers for the annual Rose Parade. The lineup includes Dole, Macy's, Stella Rosa Wines, K9s4COPs, Miracle-Gro, Beverly Hills Pet Care Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, city of Torrance, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, Underground Service Alert of Southern California, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, The Lucy Pet Foundation and Wingtip To Wingtip Association and will be available for the media to view from 4 a.m. to midnight through Dec. 31. Dole's Rose Parade float — themed "Sunrise at the Oasis" — is a 55-foot-long, 18-foot-wide and 26-foot-tall float that will feature three waterfalls, a garden filled with fake exotic animals, fresh fruit grown by Dole exclusively for the parade, 16 performers with veils, swords and fire and live drummers. NOTE: Early and late access will be available with advance RSVP; English and Spanish spokespeople will be available upon request; parking for media in the West lot.

9:30 a.m. PASADENA — The Kidspace Children's Museum will continue its sixth annual Snow Day period, celebrating winter with various activities through Dec. 30. Activities includes dry ice experiments, "Snow in LA" with Kidspace educators at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.; a building project at Igloo Village beginning an hour after opening; ice painting at 2:15 p.m.; and a snow-themed story time at 11:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Friday's schedule includes a live performance presented by Radio Disney from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Stone Hollow Amphitheater. 9:45 a.m. INGLEWOOD — Funeral services will be held for Army Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Gantt -- who died as a prisoner of war in Korea nearly 63 years ago but whose remains were only recently identified. Media check-in at 9:45 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., Clara Gantt and family will arrive, and a media availability may be held. At 11 a.m., an Army Honor Guard will escort the casket and Gantt into the church; at 11:05 a.m., service begins.
Location: The Dwelling Place Foursquare Church, 3130 W. 111th Place. At noon, service ends and the casket will be escorted by guards to a hearse for a 12:15 p.m. departure for Inglewood Park Cemetery, 3803 W. Manchester Blvd. The interment service is set for 1 p.m.

Noon IRWINDALE — PETA activists will protest the SeaWorld Rose Parade float. The event will include a protester in an orca costume.

7 p.m. PASADENA — A group of Syrian Americans will protest at the Pasadena Hilton, where United Nations Ambassador Bashar Jaafari is scheduled to give a speech on Syrian President Bashar Assad.
