PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two people were killed after a Los Angeles County Sheriff's patrol car collided with an SUV at a Palmdale street intersection.
The California Highway Patrol said two people who were in the backseat of a Ford Explorer were thrown of the SUV in Saturday afternoon's collision. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Scott Miller said the deputy in the patrol car suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
CHP Cpl. Gretchen Jacobs said it wasn't immediately known whether the SUV stopped at the stop sign. The deputy's vehicle did not have lights and sirens on.
