Nearly 6,000 without power in Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) — Nearly 6,000 Southern California Edison customers in Santa Monica are without power due to three downed wires.

The utility's spokeswoman, Jennifer Manfre, said crews were working to restore power to about 5,800 customers Tuesday night.

Manfre had no immediate information on what caused the wires to snap.

The outage was affecting a large swath of the coastal city.
