SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A 5-year-old Northern California boy who has battled leukemia for years and attracted thousands of fans last month by taking on the persona of his favorite superhero, Batman, is returning to San Francisco.
Five-year-old Miles Scott will be an honoree on Saturday at Brave the Bay, a series of events at Aquatic Park that will raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation, the organization that made his own superhero wish come true on Nov. 15 as he duked it out with the Riddler and the Joker.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/ITiqyp ) that Miles will be there cheering on participants in the 5-kilometer Santa Walk and Fun Run, the Santa plunge in the Bay, and the Santa cable car pull. Organizers hope to raise $75,000— enough to pay for about 10 wishes.
