SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — An Orange County man convicted of sexually assaulting five victims after plying them with alcohol has been sentenced to 66 years to life in prison.
Thirty-three-year-old Max Martinez of Garden Grove was sentenced Friday.
The Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/1fOWlfy ) says prosecutors claimed Martinez lured women and a 14-year-old girl into cars, motels and apartments by offering them rides and giving them alcohol.
He was convicted of rape, oral copulation and other crimes.
Prosecutor Jess Rodriguez says the victims made the mistake of trusting a stranger and then drinking.
Martinez's lawyer, Shannon Winston, argued that the victims had consensual sex with Martinez and then lied for various reasons.
