Sleeves or no sleeves? 49ers, Pack prep for cold

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers are bracing for what may be one of the coldest games in NFL history when the teams meet Sunday at Lambeau Field for an NFC wild-card game.

Sunday's forecast calls for a high of about 2 degrees, with winds making it feel even chillier. The coldest NFL game on record is the 1967 championship game at Lambeau won by the Packers 21-17 over the Cowboys, known as the "Ice Bowl."

Sunday may very well bring a sequel.

The arctic cold and its impact on the game have overshadowed other intriguing story lines, such as the quarterback matchup between San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick and Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers.

Linemen are renowned for toughing out bad weather, but some say they'll be wearing long sleeves Sunday.
