After verifying that he played with Santana decades ago, reporter Stanley Roberts took Santana to meet Malone on Friday.

LODI, Calif. (AP) — An Army corporal on leave from Afghanistan will be able to give his family the Christmas he wanted thanks to the generosity of Lodi residents. KCRA-TV in Sacramento reports that residents, firefighters and police officers gave gifts and cash yesterday to replace the presents robbers took from Cpl. Chris Petrossian's home. Petrossian says he has been able to replace most of the gifts.

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (AP) — San Diego County health officials have expanded a water closure near the U.S.-Mexico border because of sewage-contaminated runoff. The county Department of Environmental Health expanded the closure yesterday from the Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge north along the shoreline of Imperial Beach. U-T San Diego reports officials believe rainfall caused runoff from the Tijuana River.

CASTAIC, Calif. (AP) — A big rig loaded with 20 tons of French fries overturned and slid down an embankment and caught fire on Interstate 5 north of Los Angeles. The California Highway Patrol tells City News Service that no one was injured in the crash near Castaic at 2:30 a.m. The CHP says about 40,000 pounds of French fries would have to be removed before the wreckage could be pulled.
