LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Big Ten player of the year Kelsey Robinson recorded 14 kills to lead Nebraska to a three-set sweep of San Diego in the NCAA Lincoln Regional semifinals Friday night .
The win in front of a sellout of 8,000 at Devaney Sports Center sets up a Saturday night showdown between the eighth-seeded Cornhuskers and their old Big 12 rival Texas. The defending champion Longhorns advanced with a four-set semifinal win over American.
The Huskers (26-3) beat the No. 9 Toreros 25-20, 23-25 for their third sweep in three matches and advanced to a regional final for the second straight year.
Robinson had only six kills against Fairfield and eight against Oregon in the first and second rounds of the tournament. The transfer from Tennessee had eight kills in just the first set against San Diego (26-4).
