LOS ANGELES (AP) — Evan Payne scored 24 points to lead Loyola Marymount over La Sierra 100-83 on Saturday.
The Lions (8-4) had three players score over 20, as Alex Osborne went for 20 points and 17 rebounds and Anthony Ireland chipped in with 21.
Loyola Marymount hit 52 percent from the field and out-rebounded NAIA member La Sierra 51-25.
Wolfgang Wood scored 24 points and gathered seven rebounds for La Sierra. C.J. Goldsmith added 19 points in the loss.
Loyola led by just one at 26-25 with 8:24 left in the first half, then went on a 15-0 run — including emphatic dunks by Marin Mornar and C.J. Blackwell — en route to a 17-point 54-37 lead at intermission.
Garrett Kiefer's jumper with 6:27 left cut the lead to 12 at 80-68, but La Sierra could get no closer down the stretch.
