Bibbs 4 TDs leads Colorado St past Nevada 38-17

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Kapri Bibbs had a record-breaking day, rushing for 312 yards and four touchdowns, both school records, as Colorado State defeated Nevada 38-17 Saturday.

It was Bibb's fifth game of the season scoring at least three rushing touchdowns, and he leads the nation with 19 rushing touchdowns. His 312 yards broke the previous standard by two yards.

Colorado State (5-5, 3-2 Mountain West) was down 14-13 in the third quarter before scoring three unanswered touchdowns. Bibbs tied his career-best with a 59-yard TD run that gave the Rams a 24-17 lead to end the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Bibbs rushed for a 1-yard score. He then added 85-yard TD run, now the longest of his career.

Cody Fajardo, the Nevada (3-7, 2-5) quarterback, had 334 all-purpose yards. His 68-yard TD gave the Wolf Pack a 14-13 lead in the third quarter.

N COLORADO-NORTH DAKOTA

UND beats N. Colorado in final minutes, 24-21

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Greg Hardin caught an 11-yard TD pass late in the fourth quarter to give North Dakota its first lead and beat Northern Colorado 24-21 Saturday.

As UND (3-7, 2-5 Big Sky) trailed 21-16 with 4:53 to go, Dominique Bennett forced a Bears fumble and QB Ryan Bartels took possession. A five-play, 31-yard drive ended with Bartels and Hardin connecting on an 11-yard score, and a successful two-point conversion put UND up 24-21 with 2:51 left on the clock.

Seth Lobato and the Bears (1-9, 0-6) attempted to make their way back down the field, but a pass was intercepted by Will Lewis and UND took two knees to end the game.

Hardin caught his 205th career pass for the best regular-season total in UND program history, and broke the school record for career receiving yards (now 3,404 yards). Bartels threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns.

AIR FORCE-NEW MEXICO

New Mexico runs past Air Force, 45-37

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Kasey Carrier ran for 179 yards, and Cole Gautsche added 140 yards and two touchdowns and threw a scoring pass to help New Mexico beat Air Force 45-37 on Friday night.

New Mexico (3-6, 1-4 Mountain West) snapped a four-game losing streak, piling up 451 yards on the ground.

Anthony LaCoste ran for 177 yards for Air Force (2-8, 0-6), and Nate Romine threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score

The teams combined for 924 total yards, but one of the biggest plays came on defense when New Mexico linebacker Brett Bowers sacked Romine for a 13-yard loss on a fourth-and-23 attempt midway through the fourth quarter with the Falcons trailing 42-34. The Lobos then took 4:10 off the clock in driving for a field goal.

T25-COLORADO-BAYLOR

Chery, Jefferson lead No. 25 Baylor over CU 72-60

DALLAS (AP) — Kenny Chery scored 14 points, Cory Jefferson had 13 points and 11 rebounds and No. 25 Baylor beat cold-shooting Colorado 72-60 in the season opener for both teams Friday night.

The final game of a season-opening tripleheader at the downtown Dallas home of the NBA's Mavericks featured last year's NIT champion in Baylor and a Colorado team coming off the school's first back-to-back trips to the NCAA tournament in 50 years.

Brad Heslip had 12 points, all on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range, including one with a defender in his face that gave the Bears their biggest lead at 56-43 with 8:38 remaining.

Josh Scott had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Buffaloes, who shot 33 percent and made 2 of 19 from 3-point range.

Taurean Prince had 10 points and nine rebounds for the Bears.
