Jahi McMath's uncle and lawyer didn't provide the facility's name in a statement yesterday, saying they don't want media attention to affect her chance of being accepted there. SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego County Medical Examiner's office is investigating the cause of death of a man who collapsed in a Border Patrol holding cell on Christmas Eve. He was identified as 58-year-old Steven Keith. He was taken to a holding cell after authorities said they found the marijuana and traces of methamphetamine in his car at a checkpoint.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — Police say two people are dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide inside a Simi Valley home. Officials say officers found a dead woman and a seriously injured man when they were called to the home in a cul-de-sac Saturday afternoon. The man later died at a hospital. Police say the man probably shot himself after killing the woman.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Workers with a major San Francisco Bay Area bus system ended the threat of a strike by ratifying a labor deal. Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District drivers and mechanics on Friday voted for the agreement, which includes a 9.5-percent wage increase over the next three years. The 1,625 workers had rejected two previous proposals.
