LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a small plane has crashed in a parking lot in Los Angeles with two men on board who pulled themselves from the wreckage. A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman says the single-engine plane crashed into a used car parking lot near Whiteman Airport shortly before 1 this afternoon. A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says the Cessna 172 was heading into Whiteman Airport when it struck a building. The men were conscious and alert.

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a car has crashed into the front of a Southern California home, killing a man inside his bed before dawn. And Orange County Sheriff spokesman says authorities were called to a Mission Viejo home shortly after 3 this morning. The victim was not immediately identified. Twenty-seven-year-old Kourosh Keshmiri was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence.

CLAREMONT, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California church nativity scene is featuring a bloody Trayvon Martin in place of the infant Jesus in an effort to stir a community conversation about gun violence. The Los Angeles Times reports that the nativity scene on the lawn of the Claremont United Methodist Church says the scene featuring the Florida teenager was meant to be thought provoking.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — State officials say they'll miss the Nevada Legislature's April 1 deadline to begin accepting applications from medical marijuana providers and growers. A Nevada Health Division spokeswoman told the Nevada Appeal that the program probably won't be ready to accept applications until the summer.
