Police recover wedding ring stolen from IA airport

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A wedding ring stolen from a California woman at the airport in Des Moines has been recovered by police.

The Des Moines Register reports (http://dmreg.co/JrpGlx) that police were able to track what happened to the ring through airport security video.

Police say the California woman removed her ring while passing through airport security on Monday, setting it on a chair next to her. When the woman got up, she forgot to pick up the ring.

Video shows another woman standing nearby watching the Californian leave her ring. Police Sgt. Jason Halifax says the second woman waited until the victim was gone, then picked up the ring and walked away with it.

Police recovered the ring on Friday and say charges are pending against the woman suspected of taking it.
