Late goal gives Red Bulls 1-1 tie with Chivas USA

HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — Peguy Luyindula headed a corner kick into the net as four minutes of stoppage time was about to expire and the New York Red Bulls salvaged a 1-1 tie with Chivas USA on Sunday, preventing Chivas from snapping a 16-game winless streak on the road.

Erick Torres' first-half penalty kick and outstanding goaltending by Dan Kennedy had Chivas USA seconds away from ending an 0-13-3 run away from their Carson, Calif., home when Luyindula got his first of the season.

Eric Alexander, a second-half substitute, floated a corner kick from the left side into the box and Luyindula went up and knocked it into the net past a stunned Kennedy, who did not have a chance.
